So I'm home a few days from my Belfast trip and there are so many of you messaging me looking for recommendations on things to do up there!
This little write up will give you all the info you need for 48 hours in Belfast, including food, where to stay and things to do. Belfast has always floated around on the periphery of my life. Northern Ireland in general has rip roared its way into the forefront of tourism and its capital city has a large part to play in that success. It’s only a 2-hour drive/train journey from Dublin. I just love it up there!
Ramada by Wyndham Belfast City Centre - 99EURO for 2 people! - Great location right in the middle of the city. https://www.wyndhamhotels.com/ramada/belfast-united-kingdom/ramada-belfast/overview
Dukes at Queens Hotel - 98EURO for 2 people - https://dukesatqueens.com/ .. The bed was like heaven!
Food & Drinks:
The Points: The Points Whiskey and Alehouse is situated on the busy Dublin Road, at the heart of Belfast’s City Centre. Great atmosphere! We ordered a table due to the fact we were in the city at a weekend and it was manic!
Bar + Block: Went here for dinner on Friday night - WOW. Amazing steakhouse. Highly recommend this venue for food if you want a good feed!
Filthy McNastys: quirky décor consisting of mannequins doubling as tall lamps and vintage types of vinyl adorning the walls create a unique charm that makes all walks of life feel welcome. Food is served in the form of an authentic Italian Pizza. Music from Belfast’s local musicians can be heard daily from 10 pm.
The Belfast Empire: Lovely outdoor bar setting with a beer garden. A cute atmosphere with fairy lights and low lighting.
NOTE: Best to book tables for all the bars and restaurants you intend on going to especially at the weekends.
Things to do:
The Black Cab Tour
Giants Causeway - 1.5 hours from Belfast
Carrickfergus Bridge - 1.5 hours from Belfast
Shopping - Victoria Square
Roam the city and check out the cool art/painting displays on walls.
Bangor - a little town 15 minutes from the city and it is very picturesque.
